Diagnostic US is a non-invasive tool that can be used to evaluate for soft tissue damage (i.e. muscle, tendon, and ligament tears) as well as assess areas of inflammation (i.e. joint effusion, bursitis, cyst formation) and obstructions causing nerve entrapment, without exposure to radiation.
Therapeutic Injections/procedures: Utilizing US to guide a needle to the target area is a safe and effective way to ensure proper placement. With direct visualization of local nerves/blood vessels there is reduced risk of injury during the procedure and immediate confirmation that the target has been reached. This leads to a greater likelihood of a painless procedure and greater pain relief with the injection.
Intra-Articular Injections
An intra-articular joint injection is a non-surgical procedure used to treat pain and inflammation in your joints. It involves injection of specific therapeutic agents which include corticosteroids, viscosupplements, and blood-derived products into the affected joint. Intra-articular joint injections are safe, effective, and provide quick and long-lasting pain relief.
Ultrasound Guided Hip Injections
An ultrasound scan is an imaging procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound-guided hip joint injections are used to diagnose the underlying cause and relieve hip pain. The injection consists of a special mixture of an anesthetic and a steroid that blocks pain impulses and reduces inflammation in the injected area.
Ultrasound-Guided Shoulder Injections
An ultrasound is a common imaging technique that employs high-frequency sound waves to create images of organs and other internal structures of the body. These images provide valuable information about the underlying pathology of tissues and assists with diagnosis and planning the treatment of a condition. The ultrasound provides a clear view of organs, tendons, muscles and joints, and any associated disorders.
Hydrodilation
Hydrodilatation is one of the latest techniques for the treatment of the frozen shoulder. It is performed to decrease the pain and improve the mobility of the shoulder joint.
